Cocoa Roll

This is a simple but very fun activity for pre-school and kindergarten kids.  Just roll a die and then have them color the number they rolled (or they could use a dotting marker).

If your little one isn't quite old enough to count or be trusted with a die, he'll likely be content to color the sheet, pretend to write at the bottom, identify numbers, or talk about what he sees.
